Barcelona week 1: aka how can anything get better

January 6th, 2019 aka… the best day ever. I will say it once, I will say it twice, I will say it probably a hundred times.

To get to the self-proclaimed best day ever I’ll start from the top.

I arrive in Barcelona on the 2nd, a day earlier than anyone else, so I stay at the W Hotel Barcelona (seriously a bucket list hotel to stay in, I was mesmerized.) Drowsiness set aside, I walked along the beach and found cute little shops such as ‘Florencia’ and went to the Brunch and Cake Marina location. It was so incredible and relaxing, but I was super excited for everyone to get there. I went to bed with it finally hitting me how excited I was, and all of the travel anxiety was far gone.

Next day comes around and all of my roommates and friends land. We are taken to our apartment which definitely exceeded expectations and is in a safe area (ayooo mom and dad take the sigh of relief.) We then went to dinner and Dow Jones bar which is SUPER american but is an awesome concept because as the stock market rises or crashes you the drink prices vary!

Day 3: We realize just how close we are to the Sagrada Familia as we walk only five minutes to see it. This building is noooothing like the photographs, I truly could stare at it for hours. The details throughout the entirety of the structure are beautiful, and I look forward to go inside and stare stare stare. Then, thanks to some Instagram stalking, we found Ayre Rooftop and Bar for the perfect view… and instagram fine I will admit it.. of the Sagrada. Let me tell you, I can yelp and Instagram stalk ANYTHING… the sad part about it is I think it is my best talent. By day 3, I had already realized how much I did NOOOOT care if Barcelona was considered ‘basic’ because everything I was seeing I was truly falling in love with. I think I teared up with happiness twice and that is a fact. Then we went to this cute little dinner / lunch / brunch place called Everywhere which had anything you could want and got ready for Opium (lol)

Day 4, oops we wake up at 1pm sooo that day is cancelled. We went to las ramblas to shop.. also cancelled, I ain’t a fan its too stressful. But, it still is a must see. Then, we get home where we see Julia with a fever so awful that she is entering the gates of hell so we leave her be and go to a bad club and order bad food but we laughed the whole time so it was fine… hahah OOPS. Sometimes mistakes are the best memories (I hate myself for saying that.) Oh but, brunch at Billy Brunch is a MUST. So cute.

Day 5, also known as.. drum roll please.. THE BEST DAY EVER. It started off with Grace’s luggage being miraculously found and delivered straight to our door. We get up, get ready, and walk towards a place called Firebug for breakfast (7/10 but really cute presentation) Then, we walked to the Arc de Triumf which is so beautiful. I personally think the greatest aspect of the Arc are the parks around it.. they are so majestic. We saw people dancing and canoeing and I kept smiling wherever I looked. THEN I SAW THE CELEBRITY CRUSH OF MY TEENAGE YEARS, aka Alex Pettyfer where I then stared into his soul to the point I think he thought I was going to kill him. It is okay and I have no shame, naturally I DM him twice... still waiting on that response. Now, I know I can get ghosted by characters of Magic Mike and my life goals are crushed. Still, best day ever. Then, we walk to grab wine and rest before heading to Bunkers del Carmel. I kept joking that I was in Bunkers in my last life and I WAS RIGHT. Bunkers had the most beautiful view I have seen in the world. I know I know, basic Barcelona girl already? no people, this view was my type of view. I. COULDN’T. STOP. STARING. We stayed and watched the sunset where we talked to a well- travelled older couple who were super cute. They offered me manchego cheese and wine and talked about where they had travelled and I honestly didn’t realize I had taken food from strangers until after the fact. Looking back, probably not my best call. To top off the best day ever, we ended it at a local Italian place known for their lasagna where it melted in our mouths called Bellebaum. 10/10 meal, day, views !

till next time fam.

I AM IN LOVE I AM IN LOVE AND I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT !!!
