1.5 Days in Dubai!

This was a city that is hard to put to words. Being in such a mesmerizing place and with my mom had me feeling allllll types of blessed. Sadly the weather wasn’t great so we left for Abu Dhabi a bit earlier than planned but we still were able to see a lot & every moment was incredible.

High Tea at the Burj Khalifa

We pulled out all the boujee strings on this one, and well worth it. At ‘a.tmosphere’ aka the highest restaurant in the world (they aint lying) the views were ridiculous, fog and all. There is something about being in the tallest building in the world thats so magical, you feel so small & just want to stare at everything. We had so much fun - especially when I dumped the entire champagne over within the first few minutes… yeah I guess we aren’t as classy as we pretend.. sorry bout it!

Old Souk

We came here to get that true Dubai culture experience before all the modern glitz & glam and that is exactly what it was! It was so funny because mom literally was a walking target.. no one bothered me due to my loyal resting B face but they kept yelling “shakira shakira”.. maybe that means lady, we aren’t sure.. or maybe we look like Shakira definitely prefer that one. Then they would run after mom until eventually she was guilted into buying a scarf for probably waaaay too much. Around 2 the prayer went off on the speaker and everyone stopped and walked to the mosque it was so cool to see but honestly all I could think about was how much it must smell in the mosque with everyone’s shoes off.. I mean someone had to say it. We also rented one of the mini boats to take us to one side to the other which was also a fun experience. All in all, loved this area!!

The Burj Al Arab

Normally at Jumeriah Beach we would have had a great view of the hotel but sadly the fog was sooo bad so it was hard to see anything. BUT, we were still glad to go to see that part of Dubai. Definitely the only sad part of the trip was the fog this day though thats for sure! Since there wasn’t much to see on the beach then we went to Arabian Teahouse for authentic Arabian food brunches and balled out on a huge platter with spices, hummus, olives, you name it. Definitely made it worth the trek to the area.

The Dubai Mall

So the first time we went through the mall we were super tired and overwhelmed & just didn’t understand the hype. But, after tea we went back (right next to the Burj) and actually got obsessed. First off, the people watching is so fun especially around the Gucci, LV, Chanel, etc section. Even more fun though was how much there is to do! The shopping is amazing obviously and it is broken off by section so like Old Dubai / Upscale Dubai / etc. then even goes into stretches of sunglass shops, shoes, etc. We had so much fun here & even went into the aquarium where mom actually enjoyed looking at sharks for the first time in her life (dad be proud, next step is you petting a snake) 10/10 recommend spending a good amount of time here.

The Dubai Fountain

Top 10 -I got chills - moment in my life. We walk outside of the mall to watch the fountain show and wait around 5 minutes for it to start. Suddenly LADY GAGA’S BEAUTIFUL VOICE STARTS RINGING IN THE AIR. They proceed to play ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ from Star is Born & the water in the fountain and the lights off of the Burj synchronize to the song. Keep in mind that this song makes me cry almost every time I hear it so yes the tears were rolling. It was stunningly beautiful. I’m in the feels just thinking about it! Then I had a dinner reservation made for us at Thiptara where we sat outside eating thai and were able to watch it around 4 more times every time with different songs.. yet still nothing beat that first time with Gaga OFC.
