Lisbon.. The San Fran of Europe

Temperate climate / golden gate look alike bridge / trolleys / hilly streets .. reminded me soo much of my favorite US city. I loved this city SO much, definitely a contender for second favorite city after Barcelona. It has everything - so much to do, amazing food, and its so pretty to just walk around in. 100% will be coming back. In my Lisbon blog I shared what we did each day so here I’m just listing my favorite areas or places we went!!!

Alfama District

This area is the oldest and most cultural area of Lisbon. We first walked through the Praca do Comercio (big grand main square with yellow governmental building & shopping around it) here we took a tuk tuk to the top of Alfama for the best view in Lisbon (they weren’t wrong) then walked around the area! We also went to an incredible rooftop here called Memmo Hotel which was super relaxing and beautiful.

LX Factory

This was SO SO dope. Vintage shops, cool street art, fun bars, and awesome people watching. We walked around for about 2 hours looking into each shop and ended with two new vintage jackets we were quite proud of!

Belem

We came here to see the neighborhood / Belem Tower and ended up just seeing a little because it started pouring but we made a point to try the famous Pasteis de Belem and were NOT dissapointed.. the egg tarts are incredible and the long line went by super fast! Portuguese really know how to make their delicacies let me tell ya!

Time Out Market

Oh my goodness don’t even know how to describe this place and this food. Pretty much it is a big food hall of Portuguese food markets that have to be really good to even be featured. We walked around with a glass of wine and picked out what we wanted .. and it was incredible. Definitely recommend sea bass tartar from “tartar-ia,” Pad Thai from “asian fusion",” an octopus hot dog, and squid ink croquettes!

Bairro Alto & Pink Street

The best place to go for food & drinks!!! Also so fun to walk around in starting at around 5 then they really get popular later on. We also went to my new favorite rooftop bar “PARK” it was such great vibes.

Sintra

This place is out of a fairytale.. Castle of the Moors and Pena Palace were some of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.. and so colorful! It was a perfectly sunny day and the perfect way to end our week in Portugal!
