The Dirtyyyy Dammmm

Definitely my favorite trip so far.. Amsterdam is a place unlike any other — rules of its own and a indescribable vibe that I loved. There is just so much to do here!! Winter weather is a bit rough, but that aside .. everyone comes to Amsterdam for a reason and I honestly think theres something for everyone here.

Below are some of my weekend favorites!

The Heineken Experience

This was so much fun. I honestly thought it would be overrated going into it, but actually exceeded my expectations! The tour is pretty long and combines the perfect amount of a ‘typical tour’ with fun interactions. Theres a light show, horses, and even free heineken at the end. Go with a group because the bar at the end is honestly really fun.. plus theres a dude walking around with huge danish croquettes sooooo.. find him.

Canal Tour

Must must must do the canal tour through “those dam boat guys.” It is a small boat so book in advance but it is so worth it. He literally makes fun of the other tours for being so lame and it is so true. Its a super conversational tour so you can ask him anything and also can bring anything you want on the boat (yes, anything.) We had so much fun and laughed the whole time. We had a older British couple on ours and a cute Irish couple which made drinking on a small boat with a inappropriate, sarcastic driver quite amazing. Definitely a favorite!

The Museums!

I actually only went to the Moco Museum (Banksy, modern art, etc) and the Prostitution Museum (lol which I actually highly recommend the history is interesting) But there is also the Van Gogh museum I wish I went to! Nearby is the Rijks Museum which I heard only go to if you’re truly interested in art history and have background knowledge. So for me the top must- sees are: Moco, Prostitution, and Van Gogh!

Anne Frank is deserving of her own description. Everyone has to see it once in their lifetime… the history and feeling of being in the house is incredibly moving for anyone & mesmerizing that a little girl could see the beauty of life in such an intelligent way.

Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” - Anne Frank
